This passion was born out of many years working in the collections industry, seeing first hand the challenges faced by consumers when dealing with businesses that use outdated, often stressful approaches to collections.
We created DebtStream in 2018 with the aim of building a product that tackled all of the issues we found, for both consumers and businesses, during our time working in collections operations.
We launched our product in March 2020, just as the pandemic hit the UK.
The pandemic accelerated the need for digital options across all customer interactions, This was particularly pronounced within collections operations, as traditional call centres struggled to meet an increasing demand through higher levels of arrears coupled with the technical challenges of moving call centres to work from home.

We have a passion for delivering great customer experiences. Our team has significant experience working across many areas of the financial sector and for a large part within collections and recoveries. We find that traditional collection techniques are largely outdated; however, they are still widespread across many banks, finance houses, and debt collection agencies. Focus remains on commercial value rather than delivery of support and customer experience, which we believe delivers the greatest return to any business.
